30 hp Soft Starter Error 06 and 16

    Hey everyone,
We bought a GS-022 soft starter (SKU: GS-022) earlier this year and ran into two shutdowns this week. First time it threw Error 06. We checked the voltage on L1, L2, and L3 – all within 1% of each other. Hit the reset button, and it worked again.
Then this morning it stopped again, this time with Error 16 (8-10 open). The problem is that we didn’t receive a manual with the unit, so we weren’t sure how to troubleshoot it.
Has anyone run into this before?

Voss, please see the attached user manual.
For error code 06, please check if there is a problem with the motor cable and motor wiring first.
If you confirm that the cable is not loose and the motor is wired correctly, please set FC=2, FL=0, and test again.
Please also use a clamp ammeter to measure the output current during soft start operation to see if it is normal.
If you still have problems, please provide us with a video for further confirmation.

+1 on what ATO said. We had Error 16 before, too – turned out the jumper between 8 and 10 was a bit loose. Tightened it up, and the unit worked fine after that.

Oh, it turns out that terminal 8 is a bit loose! I re-tightened all the connections, and the soft starter is now running perfectly. Appreciate the help!
