Tips: What is a square capacitive proximity sensor?

A square capacitive proximity sensor is a type of sensor used in industrial automation to detect the presence or absence of objects, typically non-metallic, without direct contact, based on the principle of capacitor. These sensors rely on changes in capacitance to identify the proximity of an object. The sensor has a square shape and is designed to be sensitive to variations in capacitance caused by the proximity of an object.

Inside the square capacitive proximity sensor, there are electrodes that form a capacitive field. When an object enters the sensor's detection range, it causes a change in the capacitance, which is then detected by the sensor. This change triggers the sensor to respond, such as by opening or closing an electrical circuit. Square capacitive proximity sensors are commonly used for applications where non-metallic object detection, liquid level sensing, or similar tasks are required, making them valuable in industries such as packaging, food processing, and automation.
